The invention provides a container for feeding a stick-type cosmetic material. The container extends and retracts the cosmetic material by rotating the cylindrical holding member and the outer cylinder relative to each other. In the container, a hermetically-covering cylindrical member is provided to the cylindrical cover to thereby seal the inside of the container. The container is configured prevents negative pressure from arising only in the cylindrical holding member when the cylindrical cover is removed to release the hermetically-covering cylindrical member, thus preventing lipstick from being lifted and suppressing undesirable movement of lipstick. The cylindrical cover and the outer cylinder are fitted to each other by the hermetically-covering cylindrical member. When the cylindrical cover and the outer cylinder are rotated relative to each other, lipstick does not slide in the container and thus the lipstick does not contact the roof of the cylindrical cover.
