The bis-amines are of general formula (I): (see formula I) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are as described, herein. The bis-amines are particularly useful for enhancing the antimicrobial activity of aqueous ophthalmic compositions, such as artificial tears or ocular lubricants, and solutions for disinfecting contact lenses. L'invention concerne l'utilisation de bis-amines pour renforcer l'activité antimicrobienne de compositions pharmaceutiques. Les bis-amines sont particulièrement utiles pour renforcer l'activité antimicrobienne de compositions ophtalmiques aqueuses, telles que les larmes artificielles ou les lubrifiants oculaires, et de solutions désinfectantes pour lentilles de contact.
