Zusammenfassung:	A method of assigning a public long code mask (PLCM) to a mobile terminal in a mobile communications network is provided. The method comprises assigning a first PLCM type, when the mobile communications network assigns the PLCM for the mobile terminal; and assigning a second PLCM type, when the PLCM for the mobile terminal is determined based on an electronic serial number (ESN) associated with the mobile terminal. Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé servant à attribuer un masque de code long public (PLCM) à un terminal mobile dans un réseau de communication mobile. Ce procédé consiste à attribuer un premier type de masque PLCM, lorsque le réseau de communication mobile attribue le masque PLCM au terminal mobile, et à attribuer un second type de masque PLCM, lorsque le masque PLCM du terminal mobile est déterminé sur la base d'un numéro de série électronique (ESN) associé au terminal mobile.
