The emission collection device has a rigid member that forms a low impedance cavity shaped to overlay a seal. The emission collection device has a conduit with an inlet in fluid communications with t he low impedance cavity and an outlet that can be connected to a chemical sensi ng system to analyze the atmosphere sample for emissions leaking from the seal.
