Zusammenfassung:	A pneumatic tire includes a tread pattern having circumferential and lateral grooves (10) forming a plurality of circumferentially extending ribs (3), ea ch rib having a plurality of tread blocks (9). A plurality of tie bars (16,17) extend circumferentially across certain of the lateral grooves (10) between adjacent tread blocks in at least two of the ribs (3) which are located equally opposite of a mid-circumferential plane of the tire. The tie bars (1 6) have a pair of sidewalls and a sloped top surface (27) with the slope of the top surface in one of the ribs (3) being opposite to the slope (28) of the t ie bars (17) in the other rib (3) to generate a residual aligning torque (RAT) on the tire.
