Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is an apparatus for preparing variable density drilling muds. The invention is particularly useful in offshore operations where storage and transportation of consumable materials is an important economic issue. One version of the apparatus is a portable apparatus requiring minimal deck space that can be used as needed and then removed. The apparatus comprises a mixing chamber, a first and second feel line serving the mixing chamber, the feed lines having flow meters and control valves, wherein the flow meters are responsive to a non-intrusive sensory mechanism, such as magnetic flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters, and the like. The invention is particularly useful during offshore dynamic kill drilling.
