Zusammenfassung:	Sulfur levels in a mercaptan sulfur cotaining hydrocarbon feedstream are decreased by passing the feedstream over a fixed bed catalyst in the presence of a stripping gas under conditions sufficient to decompose at least a portion of the mercaptans to produce olefins, H2S, an off gas, and a haydrocarbon product stream having decreased levels of mercaptan sulfur and to disengage the product stream from the H2S.
