Zusammenfassung:	An exhauster (16) is provided having an improved fan assembly (26) for exhausting coal through an exhauster fan housing (36), the exhauster fan assembly (26) being mountable within the housing (36) on a shaft (34) for rotation about a shaft rotational axis. The exhauster fan assembly (26) includes a plurality of blades (42) and a hub (44). The exhauster fan assembly (26) also includes a hub protector assembly (54) having a wear plate (56) and wear plate connector means for connecting the plate (56) to at least one of the free end (52) of the shaft (34) and the free end (48) of the hub (44).
