Zusammenfassung:	The invention concerns a method for the production of a glazing pigment, wherein a multilayer film is produced by vacuum deposition of a base and the particles thus produced are fragmented into pigment particles of a desired size after the base is removed, whereby vapor deposition of a plurality of layers in separate locations is carried out inside an evacuable container an d the base is moved along the vaporization sources. According to the invention , at least one carrier layer (A), especially a silicon oxide layer, and at lea st one metal oxide layer (B), especially a titanium oxide layer, are vapor- deposited on the base, especially a continuos metal strip.
