Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to an electrochemical gas sensor with a working electrode, which is designed as a thin-film electrode, and at least one counterelectrode, which are in electrical contact via an electrolyte. The electrochemical gas sensor is characterized in that the electrolyte is alkaline and preferably comprises a solution of a salt of a weak acid. The electrochemical gas sensor according to the invention may preferably be used to determine the oxygen concentration in a gas mixture.
