Zusammenfassung:	A head mounted display system (10) includes an improved image display module (14) and flexible support (90) therefore that allows the user to position th e displayed image wherever he wants. The support includes a flexible arm forme d of a number of interlocking ball and socket members that allow each member t o pivot and rotate with respect to the adjacent member so as to allow the position of the image display module (14) to be simultaneously adjusted relative to three perpendicular axes and to be rotated as well. The flexible support arm is, however, sufficiently rigid to maintain the position of the image display module (14) when set. The display system further includes a mounting for a focusing optic in the display module that allows the optic to be axially moved while preventing rotation thereof wherein this mounting is extremely compact and suitable for an image display module (14) in a head mounted display system (10).
