Zusammenfassung:The present invention is a communication unit (18) for exchanging data. More specifically, the unit (18) includes an initiator (20) and a responder (24) that exchange data with a single time base. In one embodiment, the initiator (20) generates a time base output signal that is used for determining a multiple of the rate at which data will be transferred to the responder (24). When data is received from the responder (24), the time base signal is used to over-sample the data to determine the point at which the data from the responder (24) is valid.
