Zusammenfassung:	A shotshell (10) having a hull (120) with a protective barrier layer (130) o f fiber or other alternate material that prevents the hull (120) from being in contact with the chamber (315). The protective layer (13 0) may cover any portion of the exterior of the hull (120). The protective layer (130) protects the plastic hull (120) from the hot chamber (315) of the barrel that would adversely affect the structural integrity or functioning of the shotshell (10). The protective material (130 ) may be of precut size and thickness that when applied to the exterior of the hull (120) will increase the diameter to reduce the clearanc e with the chamber (315) and may also have an adhesive surface disposed between the exterior surface of the hull (120) and the protective layer (130).
