Zusammenfassung:	The present invention is concerned with a process for the separation of a compressed feed gas, particularly compressed air, for delivery to a user of a variable output of a gas product, nitrogen being a preferred gas, by means of a variable-capacity separator fed by a compression apparatus. The invention is useful for the production of nitrogen from air by either distillation or permeation.
