Zusammenfassung:	An outside filter for an aquarium has a housing having an inner chamber, a removable cover for closing the inner chamber of the housing, a supply conduit for supplying water to be filtered into the inner chamber of the housing, a withdrawal conduit for withdrawing the water from the inner chamber of the housing, a motor-operated pump for withdrawing the filtered water, a device for producing a vacuum for aspirating water with air which is contained in the supply conduit during a displacement, the inner chamber of the housing together with the discharge conduit forming a system which communicates with the supply conduit and during the production of the vacuum is hermetically sealingly closed from outside and serves as an evacuatable pressure chamber, the device for producing the vacuum inside the system which is closed.
