Zusammenfassung:A suction roll (20) for forming or treating a material web (18), in particular a paper, cardboard or textile web, has an outer suction roll casing (1) formed by a perforated, rotary hollow cylinder, and a non-perforated support body (2) which extends through the suction roll casing (1). An axial bore (19) extends from end to end of the support body (2), is concentrically arranged to the axis of the support body and is crossed by an axial yoke (3) secured against rotation. The support body (2) is supported on the yoke (3) by at least one preferably hydrostatic and/or hydrodynamic support element (4), and its flexure line can preferably be influenced.
