Zusammenfassung:	A method for determining a biomechanical property of a feed, the method comprising the steps of: (a) subjecting the feed to infrared radiation to obtain spectral data; and (b) using the spectral data to determine the biomechanical property; whereby, the biomechanical property of the feed is determined on the basis of the bond energies of the chemical constituents of the feed.
