Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed is a dynamic damper which is to absorb building vibrations in any horizontal directions, not restricted ted to one direction. For example, it comprises an oscillating body which is held to move horizontally, a plurality of ball screws which are arranged perpendicularly to each other with a height difference among them and which have a nut portion on the side of the oscillating body and a screw shaft engaging with said nut portion, and motors which reciprocate the oscillating body according to the period of vibration of the building by turning the ball screws. Also, a method is disclosed for detecting malfunction of a dynamic damper which utilizes the correlation Rx y between the acceleration of velocity or displacement of a building.
