Zusammenfassung:An accident response transport ("transport") (10) comprises a chassis assembly (12), a passenger/office portion (14), and a tow assembly (16). The chassis assembly (12), having a rear end (18) and a forward end (20), includes a frame (72), at least two axles (24) with each axle having at least two wheel assemblies (22), and a drive assembly (80). The drive assembly (80) includes an engine (86) mounted onto the frame (72) is used for propelling the transport (10) over roadways. A passenger/office portion (14) includes an exterior shell (28) that defines an interior (26) and mounts onto the forward end (20) of the chassis assembly (12). The interior (26) is capable of supporting and seating a plurality of passengers. The interior (26) has perimeter seating (110), a folding work table (114), a restroom (112), and space (116) for basic office equipment, such as a telephone, photocopier, coffee maker. An alternate embodiment includes an interior (26) with a plurality of row-style passenger seats 118. The tow assembly (16) is mounted onto the rear end (18) of the chassis assembly (12) and is used for towing or hauling a vehicle (145). The tow assembly (16) includes a boom (46) having a first actuator (48) capable of raising, lowering and telescoping the boom (46), a vehicle lift apparatus (52), a winch assembly (50) capable of lifting a heavy object, and control circuitry (54) to operate the boom (46), winch assembly (50) and vehicle lift apparatus (52). The vehicle lift apparatus (52) may be a wheel lift assembly (58), a tow sling assembly (60), or an axle-bearing lift assembly (62). In preferred form, the vehicle lift assembly (52) includes both the wheel lift assembly (58) and the tow sling assembly (60). An alternate transport (10') includes a flat bed assembly (194) in place of tow assembly (16).
