Zusammenfassung:	A method for coating pharmaceutical tablets is disclosed in which polymeric coating ingredients an combined with saccharides in a melt spinning operation to form composite particulates. The particulates are then dispersed in water to form an aqueous polymer coating solution, followed by application to pharmaceutical tablets by such methods as spray coating. The particulates dissolve extremely rapidly in water to form a dispersion of the polymer coating ingredients. Such rapid dissolution allows for increased processing rates and avoids disadvantages of the prior art such as the requirement of high shear rate mixing for long times.
