CONNECTION OF MOBILE DEVICES TO HETEROGENOUS NETWORKS

There is described an improved apparatus for connecting a mobile end system to a communications network comprising a mobile end system incorporating a storage and having assigned thereto a first unique identity code, an interface including a first transmitter and having assigned thereto a second unique identity code, the interface being linked to the mobile end system via a first communications channel, and data switch including a second transmitter and having assigned thereto a third unique identity code, the data switch being linked to the interface via a second communications channel and being additionally linked to the communications network via a third communications channel, wherein the mobile end system communicates with the interface by transmitting at least the first unique identity code thereto and wherein the interface communicates with the data switch by transmitting at least the first and second unique identity codes thereto and communicating said third unique identity code as well as said first and second unique identity codes to the communications network.
