Utilizing strategically placed sensors in the wet end of a paper machine, the fiber charge and turbidity, prior to the headbox as well as in the white water loop, are constantly measured. Based on these readings, the addition of a chemical coagulant and a chemical drainage and retention aid are controlled via a computer system.
