Zusammenfassung: | The recovery of noble metals by sodium cyanide leaching from complex refractory gold and silver bearing ores containing such complex silver sulphides as polybasite, pearcite, pyrargyrite, tetrahedrite and argentite presents difficulties in that the precious metal is trapped inside the refractory matrix of the mineral. Pretreatments such as roasting, acid pressure leaching and biological leaching are capital intensive and to obviate this disadvantage, the use of an alkali/alkaline earth metal peroxide is applied as an additive, in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 5.0 kg/t. Preference is for calcium peroxide, which is more stable, consumes less cyanide, is simple to use and monitor, and enhances the process and recovery by improvement in leach kinetics. |
