At the five outside corners (4) of the paving stone (2) are quarter-recesses (22). At the centre of the outer edges (16) are half-recesses (24). At the inner corner (6) of the paving stone (2) is a three-quarter recess (26). The recesses (22, 24, 26) fit together when the paving stones are laid to form full recesses (38) which allow water to drain off.
