Zusammenfassung:Water-soluble 1,2-dithiole-3-thione derivatives are prepared by reacting a polyoxyalkylated starting material with sulfur. These derivatives are useful as corrosion inhibitors, particularly in aqueous environments. The compounds of the invention have the following structure (see formula I) wherein R is H or a C1 to C12 organic moiety; R1 is a C1 to C32 organic moiety; R2 is a C1 to C4 alkylene moiety; and n is 1 to 50.
