Zusammenfassung:	A spacer is provided for an electrochemical apparatus which is adapted to be associated with an electrolyte. The spacer comprises a perforated or ion-permeable synthetic plastic sheet. A first plurality of magnets is completely embedded in only one face thereof and a second plurality of magnets is completely embedded in only the other said face. By this specific construction, there is improved combined flow and mixing of electrolyte through the spacer.
