Zusammenfassung:	17 The present invention relates to an apparatus for producing thin boards by chipless-cutting separation of the boards from a log or squared timber on one or the opposing sides of the squared timber. The apparatus comprises a feed track for the squared timber and a cutter system that is arranged on one side of the feed track, and an opposing contact-pressure system. In addition, the apparatus comprises feed devices that move the squared timber towards the cutter system, these consisting of at least one pair of feed rollers that grip the squared timber on opposite sides, each pair of feed rollers being arranged so as to be movable floatingly in a direction that is transverse to the feed track, regardless of the clamping force they exert on the squared timber, so as to be able to adapt to the position of the squared timber that is determined by the contact pressure on the cutter system while maintaining symmetrical clamping forces.
