Zusammenfassung:	GRINDING MACHINE FOR WET GRINDING FLAT ROLLS WITH WEAK PROFILES The invention concerns a grinding machine for wet grinding the rolls of flat rolling works. The grinding machine contains an especially accurate measuring device for measuring diameter changes, which measures the diameter change of the roll in a non-contacting manner during the grinding process at exactly the area being ground. This takes place with the help of a holder having an air jet fixed to it. The air jet has a spacing of about 0.2 mm to the surface of the roll. As soon as this spacing is slightly changed the changed pressure head works on a piston which operates to return the spacing to the desired value. In addition to the length measuring device for measuring the changes in roll diameter, the holder also has on it other measuring devices, such as the probe of a crack inspecting apparatus.
