Zusammenfassung:	Method for manufacturing deformation-resistant oxide coatings on workpieces, where cracks are induced in the oxide layer formed on the surface of the workpiece as a result of severe deformations in the base material. The cracks are subsequently healed by filling the interstices with subsequently produced oxide from a post-oxidation process. Repeating the process several times controls the natural stress condition of the surface layer such that the effective elastic deformation range is extended.
