Zusammenfassung:	A method for producing isopropyl alcohol and isopropyl tert-butyl ether from a mixture of light hydrocarbons containing propane and butane, characterized in that, a propane and a butane fraction are separated, n-butane is isomerized, butane and propane are catalytically dehydrogenated, propene is converted with water into isopropyl alcohol and this is at least partially etherified with the isobutene contained in the dehydrogenation reaction mixture thereby forming isopropyl tertbutyl ether, while unconverted hydrocarbons from the propene hydration and unconverted isobutane from the etherification are recycled to the dehydrogenation stage.
