Zusammenfassung:This invention relates to a method for surface modification of synthetic, artificial and natural polymers and polymer compositions, using metals, non-metals and gases. The task of this invention is to provide a method for surface modification of synthetic, artificial and natural polymers and polymer compositions, said method being universal, of high efficiency and permitting materials of improved properties of their surface as well as materials of quantitatively new properties to be obtained. The method according to the invention consists in accelerated ions of any chemical element being implanted into the polymer material at low energies within the range of 102-107 electronvolts. Implantation is carried out at low, room or high temperature of the polymer material within the limits of its heat resistance. The quantity of implanted ions (or so called " dose of implantation) is of from 1010 to 1023 ions/cm2. The ion current (i.e. the density of ion beam) is of from 10-8A/cm2 to 10-2 A/cm2. Depth of penetration of ions being implanted into the polymer material is up to 10-6m.
