Common monitoring circuitry is used to generate a clock signal, the duration of which is proportional to the magnitude of a test signal from the remote station. This clock signal in turn is stored in a separate binary counter, the output of which is used to individually control the amplifier gain in the channel connecting the remote station to the bridge. |
