Zusammenfassung:PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF METHYL MERCAPTAN FROM CARBON OXIDES An improvement in the process for the manufacture of methyl mercaptan that includes reacting a carbon oxide, hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide in the presence of a catalyst at high temperature and pressure; the improvement comprising utilizing a single-phase solid supported catalyst preparad by mixing an oxide, sulfide, hydroxide or salt of a metal from the group of iron, nickel, chromium, cobalt and molybdenum with an alkali metal inorganic base that is an oxide, hydroxide, sulfide or salt and then sulfidizing the admixture.
