Zusammenfassung:VERTICAL OVEN FOR THERMAL PROCESSING OF LUMP FUEL An oven for thermal processing of a lump fuel, comprising a semicoking, gasification and cooling zones arranged in series along its height, inlets for feeding a heat carrier into the and gasification zones and a chamber for collecting and discharging a gas-vapour mixture disposed in the semicoking zone concordantly to the vertical axis of the oven. Said chamber is defined by a grating forming a cylindrical surface and the heat carrier inlets are arranged over the oven periphery in a plurality of tiers. The oven is also furnished with a device for charging the solid fuel into the top part of said oven, and a device for discharging a solid process residue from the bottom part of said oven. The oven of the invention featuring a comparatively simple embodiment, enables high efficiency in terms of shales to be attained, said efficiency varying from 10 to 15 thou. tons of shales per 24 hours, and the tar yield and thermal efficiency of the process to be enhanced.
