ELECTROMAGNETIC RELAY WITH PIVOTED ARMATURE

An electro-magnetic relay is provided, comprising an angled armature and a yoke. The armature and the yoke each have a bearing surface arranged to engage each other to permit the armature to pivot relative to the yoke. The armature bearing surface is biased towards the yoke bearing surface by means of a spring, one end of which extends through a recess in the yoke and bears against a surface defining said recess and the other end of which is rounded and engages in the armature recess, said armature recess also having a rounded configuration. The ends of the spring are arranged in their respective recesses such that the line of force acting through the ends of the spring passes closely adjacent to the point or line of contact of the two bearing surfaces.
