Zusammenfassung:	A method for forming a metal oxide coating on the surface of a moving glass sheet by spraying onto the surface a solution of a heat-decomposable metal oxide wherein the amount of the solution to be sprayed is restricted at positions near both side ends of the glass sheet so as to provide a uniform coating thickness in apparatus for performing the above method is also provided which comprises a combination of a mechanism for detecting the position of a travelling spray gun and a mechanism for restricting the amount of the solution to be sprayed.
