Zusammenfassung:	Anionic sulphonated polyester are disclosed. They are obtained by reaction of(a) at least one n-alkylene, cycloalkylene-, di(alkylene)arylenediol or polyalkylene glycol.(b) at least one .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated, aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or a functional derivative thereof,(c) at least one saturated, aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid or a dimeric unsaturated fatty acid which is different from component (b) or a functional derivative of these acids in an initial step and of(d) at least one water-soluble derivative of sulphurous acid or a salt of oxymethanesulphonic acid in a final step. These water-soluble polyesters are useful as dispersant in the manufacture of stable aqueous dyestuffs especially of dyes.
