ROTARY BRUSH TYPE VEHICLE WASHING RATUS

WALK-ABOUT WASHING APPARATUS A vehicle washing apparatus of the type wherein a vehicle travels through the apparatus. The apparatus features an upright rotary brush mounted on a rigid swing arm structure which is pivoted on a reciprocable carriage that can be shifted back and forth a limited distance along a track substantially paralleling the path along which a vehicle moves. Swinging of the arm structure and brush results chiefly from engagement between the brush and the end and lateral sides of a moving vehicle. Shifting of the carriage occurs under power through the operation of a reversible motor whose driving direction is determined, according to the invention, by the angular position of the arm structure and brush.
