MACHINE FOR CLEANING THE OUTER SURFACE OF TRUNK PIPELINE

The present invention provides a machine for cleaning the outer surface of a trunk pipeline, comprising, a frame movable along the pipeline to be cleaned, means mounted on said frame for moving said frame along the pipeline to be cleaned, at least one working member mounted on said frame and having a housing and a rim, the housing of said working member comprising of a clamp open from below and mounted on said frame, and two brackets, each of which is mounted on one of the ends of said clamp and adapted to be moved down and turn away from the pipeline being cleaned when the machine is dismantled and upward and back to the normal position when the machine is mounted; support rollers mounted in the clamp and in the brackets of the housing of said working member along a circumference coaxial to the pipeline to be cleaned so that the axes of rotation of said support rollers are parallel to the axis of the pipeline to be cleaned; the rim of said working member being mounted in the housing thereof, between the clamp and the brackets, on said support rollers, and carrying tools for clean ing the surface of the pipeline as said ring-shaped rim rotates around said pipeline and the frame moves simultaneously along the pipeline, said rim comprising two half-rings to facilitate installation of said rim on the pipeline and dismantling thereof, a drive to rotate said rim around the pipeline, in the form of a sleeve-and-roller chain secured to the outer surface of said rim, and means for rotating said sleeve-and-roller chain.
