DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY DETECTING OVERLOAD ON AERIAL LADDER TRUCK

There is provided a device for automatically detecting an overload on an aerial ladder truck equipped with a ladder which is vertically and horizontally swingable and extensible, said device ensuring operation with safety within an optimum working limit load range in connection with the extended length and vertical angle of the ladder. Both the angle of the ladder and the load thereon are sensed by independent means having angle and load indicating pointers which move across sets of contacts selectively interconnected with one another so as to actuate a warning or automatic stop device at different load levels according to the angle of the ladder.
