Zusammenfassung:	An improved process is provided for the production of organic dinitriles such as adiponitrile by reaction of hydrogen cyanide with an organic mononitrile such as 3-pentenenitrile or 4-pentenenitrile in the presence of a zerovalent nickel complex by carrying out the hydrocyanation under the conditions that the molar ratio of nitrile moieties to the nickel complex is maintained below about 10/1.
