Zusammenfassung: | 1467326 Wear-resistant inserts for groundworking tools CATERPILLAR TRACTOR CO 21 May 1974 [21 May 1973] 22586/74 Heading A1B [Also in Division El] Improved control of wear of the bottom surface 13 of the ground-engaging digging edge of a ground-working tool 10, e.g. a grader blade, having a main portion 12 fabricated from a tough, ductile alloy material is obtained by so fixing a hard, wear-resistant insert 11 to the rear surface of said portion that the bottom surface of the edge is formed by both the body and the insert. In one preferred embodiment the insert, which may be brased to the main portion, comprises the entire rear surface of the tool. In another embodiment the insert is sandwiched between the main portion and a rear portion of a similar alloy to the main portion, the insert and portions being brased or welded into a single unit. |
