Zusammenfassung:1419597 Sealing anodized A1 or alloys HENKEL & CIE GmbH 9 March 1973 [10 March 1972] 11465/73 Heading C7B Al or alloys thereof are anodized then sealed in an aqueous solution (pH 5-6.5) containing one or more water soluble phosphonic acids or water soluble salts thereof which form a complex with a divalent metal, and calcium ions, the molar concentration of calcium ions to phosphonic acid being at least 2:1, and the solution temp 90‹C to boiling. The metal is first degreased with alkali then etched. The calcium ions may be supplied by CaCl 2 or Ca (NO 3 ) 2 . The solution may also contain 0.1-5.0 g/l dextrin. Examples of phosphonic acids include 1-hydroxypropane-, 1 diphosphonic acid, 1-amino ethane-, 1 diphosphonic acid, and aminotrimethylene phosphonic acid. The Na, K, ammonium or alkanolamine salts may be used.
