Zusammenfassung:Oxygen-enriched blast air is produced by compressing air (125), dividing into blast (127) and feed (128) streams, and passing the feed stream to a double cryogenic rectification column with higher- and lower-pressure columns (100,200), from which intermediate O2 is passed to a side column (300) for sepg. into higher O2 content fluid and vapour. The vapour is returned to the lower-pressure column, some fluid is vaporised by heat-exchange with the feed air, and remaining fluid is withdrawn and combined with the blast stream. Also claimed is a second process in which a lower purity oxygen stream is taken from the double column and combined with the blast stream. An appts. is also claimed.
