The invention relates to a retaining spring, consisting of spring wire, for the brake shoes of a fixed calliper, partial lining, disc brake in which the brake shoes having a supporting plate are guided such that they can move in a radially open shaft of the brake housing in the axial direction and are supported in the circumferential direction of the brake disc, with a retaining pin which is held in the housing and is parallel to the brake disc axis, and which engages with play through a retaining hole in the brake shoes and on which the spring is supported. According to the invention, the spring (1, 50) is supported on 2the brake shoes (28, 29), overlapping the brake shoes (28, 29), with two first sections (2, 3), arranged offset in the circumferential direction and running essentially in the axial direction, and the spring (1, 50, 55) engages under the retaining pin (41), which is arranged centrally in the shaft of the housing, with two second sections (4, 5) arranged offset in the axial direction and running in the circumferential direction.
