Zusammenfassung:	1485443 Drying webs BELOIT CORP 25 Oct 1974 [14 Dec 1973] 46302/74 Heading F4G An apparatus for drying a moving web 16 comprises web support means having a surface for supporting the moving web, an impingement box 13 having an apertured plate 28 through which, in use, air flows on to the web, means for introducing pressurized air into the box 13, and exhaust means adjacent the box 12 for exhausting spent air. The apertures 29, 30, 32, 33 in the plate are of larger diameter at the edges of the plate adjacent the exhaust means then the apertures located centrally of the plate. As shown three different diameter sets of apertures are shown. In the embodiment described four impingement boxes are used and fed from a common manifold (Fig 3, not shown). The web support means comprises a conveyer or roller, the spacing of each aperture from the web sup. porting means is from one to four times its diameter.
