The invention relates to a plant for producing a metal band with protection coating comprising a series of treatment sections, placed one after the other in a continuous line. The plant comprises two coating sections, respectively a galvanisation section B and a painting section C, in which the band follows a running path (4, 6) having at least a vertical portion (41, 64) fitted with cooling or drying means. The whole plant can be placed in a single building comprising a central tower with two abutting sections in which are provided both coating sections B and C and two halls of smaller height in which are installed, respectively, the supply section A and the exit section D, with horizontal accumulators (3, 7).
