METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRELIMINARY PREPARATION AND EXPLOSION OF TOBACCO PORTIONS

The method and the device are designed for the formation of aquantitatively determined portion of tobacco and its treatmentwith steam, feeding it into a rolling equipment and impregnationhaving an expansion effect. A twin-tube unit is also designed forfeeding of two simultaneously formed tobacco portions to theopposite sides of the impregnation roller. The tobacco portionsare formed in a chamber including a vertically adjustablepartition for tuning to different operative parameters and/ordifferent types and/or forms of tobacco and are directed across apneumatically separable division zone to a zone for precompactionand heating. The division zone is limitted by components acting insuccession at least two of which form partitions for theprevention of the filtration of the expansion agent from theimpregnation zone.
