STEPPING VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN A SEPARATE OIL VESSEL

The stepping regulator is used for the adjustment of thevoltage under load of power transformers and autotransformers. Thestandard vertical type stepping regulators are adapted for sideassembly to the tank or the bell of the power transformer. Betweenthe leads from the selector and the metal vessel there is oildistance and an additional isolation barrier can be fitted and inthis way the overall dimensions, the weight and the costs arereduced even when the maximum voltages are used. The steppingregulator is mounted in a steel vessel (2) which has a side holewith a flange for connection to the transformer. Around theregulator (1) and insulation cylinder (10) is mounted to which theleads from the selector (3) are fitted. Cylinder (10) can be cutand fitted between the supporting head and the bottom of regulator(1). As options for fixing the leads (14) a vertical part of thecylinder or an insulation plate or other insulation materials canbe used.3 claims, 7 figures
