Zusammenfassung:	The method and the device are used in the light industry, especially for the arrangement and sorting by type, shape and size, of clothing articles hung on coat-hangers. By them, the articles are arranged fully automatically, in a maximum simple and rational manner. By the method, separation of a predetermined hanger is programmed by coding its subsequent orientation from a present series in a locking station from an outgoing locking section. Before its transportation to the outgoing locking section, the hanger is hung on an intermediate handing unit which is moving on a bar of the transportation system by means of a roller. The device includes a station (1) receiving the hangers (2) a sorting out transport section (10) having outgoing locking sections (15) fitted in outgoinig stations (14), collecting stations and a control unit for general control. The receiving station (1) is connected to an intermediate hanging station (7) having intermediate hanging unit (8) for hangers (2) which are guided by the sorting device by means of transportation members (63).
